Evolution Free Zone has initiated the construction of a modern building for Segex 

November, 2025 — Tacares de Grecia, Alajuela. Evolution Free Zone initiated the construction of a modern building that will house the operations of Segex, a 100% Costa Rican-owned company that offers specialized and exclusive integrated Logistics Services for the Health Sciences Industry.  

This is the eighth company to choose this Business Park, which features world-class infrastructure and buildings, as well as a strategic location with access to major national routes and the Juan Santamaría Airport. 

This announcement represents a significant milestone, as it allows us to continue strengthening the ecosystem of on-site suppliers offered by Evolution Free Zone, as well as contributing to the dynamism of the MedTech industry in the country.

Segex will expand its operating capacity 

The new 7,500 m² building will enable Segex to expand its capacity to offer comprehensive and flexible solutions to companies that manufacture or market medications and/or medical devices. It will provide services such as inventory management and control, order preparation, and product packaging, as well as optimizing transportation and distribution operations.  

These facilities are designed to ensure compliance with rigorous international standards in the Life Sciences industry. They will have a Distribution Center serving all of Costa Rica, Central America, and the Caribbean Islands, as well as a laboratory for product conditioning and repackaging. The company operates within the Free Trade Zone Regime, under the SEL status, which allows them to provide high value-added and efficient logistics services.
