Science and Technology promote specialized training in the West
Tacares de Grecia, August 1— With the aim of preparing the human talent that advanced manufacturing companies will demand in the coming years, Evolution Free Zone will have a new physical training space at the National Learning Institute (INA – Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje) to offer technical and operational programs that are in high demand in the labor market.
The high-tech business park, developed by CODE Development Group, is celebrating this project as part of National Science and Technology Day, as it marks a milestone in the economic development strategy of the Western Region, which is projected to become one of the main hubs for innovation, specialized training, and productive transformation in the country.
This INA space, to be located inside the Park, will open in 2026 and aims to bridge the gap between technical training and the innovation processes that dominate the labor market, thus ensuring quality job opportunities for local communities.
The model reflects a joint vision between Evolution Free Zone and INA, the result of a study that identified the positions most in demand by the first companies that will operate in the Park: Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Inari Medical, Accudyn, Trelleborg Medical Solutions, Intricon and AVNA. Based on the results of the study, an academic program was designed to suit the main operational, technical, and professional profiles required by the medical device industry.
“Beyond job creation, this project allows for the structural transformation of the job opportunities ecosystem in the West. By linking technical education with the demands of the STEM sector, we are promoting innovation and preparing an entire region to lead knowledge-based economic development,” explained Mariola Sánchez, Director of Marketing and Business Development for CODE Development Group, the developer of Evolution Free Zone.
The arrival of multinational companies to Evolution Free Zone marks a turning point for the Western Region, consolidating it as a new strategic hub for talent in science, technology, and innovation. This business ecosystem is projected to create 20,000 direct jobs over the next 15 years, driving economic development based on knowledge and prepared for the challenges of the future.
The most sought-after job profiles in the Evolution Free Zone fall into three broad categories:
Administrative and support positions will also be created, many of which will require English language skills and technological expertise, in line with the global environment in which these companies operate.
“Within this framework of cooperation, we will implement programs that promote high employability, which is currently required by the Life Sciences sector. We are ensuring that we will train talent in employment-intensive areas, and the impact will be very positive for both, the people who have the opportunity to train under these programs and the companies that have access to this talent,” Kattia Zamora, Regional Director of INA Occidente.
For Sánchez, this offer not only raises the profile of local human resources, but also increases their chances of direct employability with companies based in the Park.
INA will offer a wide range of technical courses and degree programs with an initial capacity of 100 students and a goal of scaling up to 250 people trained per year.
